Country of Origin: Central Asia

Size: 24-32 inches 88-176 pounds - Some males can be larger, there is no max weight for this breed.

Coat: Dense double coat, can be long or short.

Character: Strong, have a dominant personality, fearless flock gaurdian

Temperament: Protective of family, wary of strangers, good with children but need to be supervised. They like to bark at night. They are family dogs and want daily interaction.

Care: Does not require a lot of grooming They shed heavily in the spring and require regular brushing during that time.

Training: Consistent training

Activity: This breed enjoys being outside. Must have a large fenced yard, as they will roam if given the opportunity. In a small yard/apartment they do tend to get bored which can lead to digging and chewing. Are happiest when they have a job to do (guarding flock).
